Introducing - The Villa
In the last 12 months, we have been very busy building a multi-function training facility for Staffs Fire and Rescue Service at their headquarters in Stone Staffordshire. The facility is made from 16 shipping containers and has been designed to allow firefighters to undertake a wide variety of training scenarios in a safe environment. The aim: to provide better, more realistic training and thereby help prevent future firefighter deaths.
This is a completely new venture for us at Less Co2 Limited, but as our business has always been the erection of metal structures, we have utilised our existing engineering skills to cross over into this new market.
We are very proud of the new facility, known as ‘The Villa’, and the training opportunities it offers to Staffordshire firefighters. We designed it to blend into the landscape at Fire HQ but it is tardis like having multiple rooms, galvanised staircases and a large basement to provide below ground and high-rise training – very important in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire.
We were proud when Prince Edward, the Earl of Essex came to officially open the facility on 8th September 2017 and we have had great feedback to date: e.g.
A wonderful Training Facility and a great asset to the training of the modern-day firefighter.
