BBC Radio Stoke Visit a Wind Turbine!

On a wintery day in February, with snow on the ground (not like the excellent summer weather we have had the last few weeks!), we visited our Endurance E3120 wind turbine at Calton Moor Airfield in Derbyshire with Ros Chimes from BBC Radio Stoke. Emma, Paul and Linda from LessCO~2 Limited took Ros on a tour of the wind turbine site showing her how the wind turbine worked and supported the farm and airfield.

Paul provided an excellent interview that was broadcast on BBC Radio Stoke explaining why wind turbines are important and how they generate renewable electricity. To help dispel myths associated with wind turbines being noisy, the interview took place right at the bottom of the tower. We also demonstrated the wind turbine being emergency stopped then restarted to give further context and excitement to the interview!

Take a listen to the interview as broadcast on BBC Radio Stoke on the Tim Wedgewood show and we would love to hear your comments! Plus to read the full interview transcript check out our Calton Moor Case Study.
