Bespoke Wind Turbine Monitoring Solution

LessCO~2 Limited have been featured in Comms Business online magazine alongside Adey Electronics, Mobius Networks and Cloud Perspective who have have pulled together their expertise to create a bespoke solution for monitoring our wind turbine fleet. We have been working with the Adey Electronics, Mobius Networks and Cloud Perspective to integrate monitoring of our wind turbine fleet into our Salesforce CRM, built by Cloud Perspective to effectively manage and efficiently maintain the wind turbines.

###The Challenge

We wanted us and our customers to be able to securely view live and historic energy and performance data for their wind turbine using our Salesforce CRM system. This would include enhancing business management systems, suggesting preventative maintenance plans, logging all faults, creating support tickets and where neccessary notifing the tech team and generate appropriate service responses for customers.

###The Solution

Together Adey Electronics, Mobius Networks and Cloud Perspective were able to pull together a solution that uses Adey's customised Industrial Conel 3G Router and a managed VPN system that allows the Serial and Ethernet technoligies within the turbine to securely with the outside world. A bespoke application running on the routern then extracts data from the turbine and then sends it across Mobius' secure private cellular network, allowing LessCO~2 to present the information in a customer friendly manner over the internet (mobiles, tablets, laptops), using the Salesforce CRM built by whilst ensuring the sensitive data is protected from malicious attacks.

With this solution, LessCO~2 are able to be a market leader in providing maintenance services for wind turbine across the UK, by managing our fleet more time and cost efficiently to maximise site visits, and reduce non-automated administration to allow our team to provide the best service we can. We are also in the process of launching our new online portal to our existing customers, using our described solution, that allows customers to view live turbine data and keep a record of their turbine maintenance and industry news.
