Emergency first aid at work

Course Overview

This is a nationally recognised award for Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW). It satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid - the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) if an organization's risk assessment deems the EFAW to be appropriate. All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aiders that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

The course is delivered by Abacus Training - a specialist first aid training organisation with experience from the emergency services.

Rescue 3 is one of the worlds leading rescue training institutions and Rescue 3 courses carry a 3 year International Certification, this is extremely useful our customers wishing to work overseas.

Course details


Course duration 6 hours (1 day course), The course is usually delivered as a pre-requisite to the Wind Turbine Operator training course for those delegates who do not have an in date first aid qualification.


  • Students must be a minimum of 14 years of age
  • A full Ofqual regulated qualification can be offered to all, subject to assessment
  • A student cannot claim the official title of ‘Emergency First Aider in the Workplace’ until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role
  • The certificate will expire as dated on the certificate, irrespective of age.
  • Valid first aid qualification (If not taking the HSE Emergency first aid at work course at the same time as the WTO).
